Q: What should I do after an auto accident?
|
A: Get the name, driver license number, vehicle license plate, and insurance information of each of the other parties involved in the accident. If there are any witnesses, you should obtain the name and phone number of each witness. Make a note of the time, date, and location where the accident occurred and, if you have a camera, take pictures of the accident scene and the damaged areas of each vehicle. Once you have all of the information, contact your insurance company as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT: If the other party is unwilling to provide this information to you, or if they do not have a driver license or insurance, you should contact the police and your insurance company immediately.

Q: Can my insurance determine where my vehicle is repaired or do I have a choice?
|
A: Your insurance company will, more than likely, have a list of preferred repair centers. However, you are not limited to just those repair centers. You may call any repair center and they will coordinate the repair process with your insurance company. You have the right to take your vehicle to the collision repair center of your choice. Your insurance company cannot require you to go to a particular shop. Your insurance company usually can recommend a reputable repair center in your area, including Champs.

Q: Do I need more than one repair estimate?
|
A: You are not required by law to get more than one estimate. You have the right to get as many comparison estimates as you’d like in order to help you make an informed decision about your collision repair options. Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all necessary work. If you’re not sure why one estimate is different from another you’ve received, just ask one of our professional estimators.
Choose a repair center that has unibody repair equipment and certified (by I-CAR or ASE for example) technicians. All Champs locations are I-CAR Gold Class centers and all of our technicians have continuing I-CAR and ASE training to ensure that they are skilled in the latest repair process and equipment. Make sure you choose a collision repair center that has the advanced equipment and systems used to remove and reinstall frame, suspension, engine, and drivetrain components as well as provide other essential collision repair services. All Champs locations have the latest equipment and training necessary to repair your car to its exact factory specifications.
